Peter Wessels leaves as a coach at the KNLTB. The former professional tennis player returns to Dubai, where he worked in the past.
The 42-year-old Wessels, the former number 72 in the world, worked as an assistant coach at the KNLTB.
“ Im going back to Dubai with my family because I see a very beautiful and great challenge there,” said Wessels, who is going to work at a new tennis centre in Dubai. “My wife and I simply miss life in Dubai and that has made us decide to return to the desert.”
Among other things, Wessels will be responsible for the training programme of juniors and the contact person for international players who spend their off-season or have a training week there. Wessels was appointed in 2018 by the KNLTB, which opened a national training centre in Amstelveen at the end of last year.
