Gonzalo Higuaín will stop playing football at the end of this calendar year. The Inter Miami CF striker confirmed this at a press conference on Monday. Higuaín couldn‘t keep his emotions inside.
In his career, 34-year-old Higuaín made waves at almost every club he played for. The striker broke through at Real Madrid and left for SSC Napoli after seven seasons (and 107 league goals).
There, he culminated in the very last year, where Higuaín scored a whopping 36 goals in 35 league games. Higuaín then wore Juventus’s shirt, AC Milan, Chelsea, Juventus again, after which he went after his “American Dream”.
In his career, Higuaín won the Series, La Liga and Coppa Italia three times, once the Copa del Rey and Italian Super Cup, twice the Spanish Super Cup and once the Europa League. He played 75 international matches for the Argentine national team.
