‘The Graafschap is losing fifteen years of top talent to PSV’

Essiën Bassey exchanges De Graafschap‘s youth education for that of PSV. This is what De Gelderlander reports. Fifteen-year-old talent will try to develop further in Eindhoven.
Bassey started at AZSV in Aalten, the place where he came from. As a D-pupil, he was then picked away by De Graafschap. That adventure didn’
t last very long, because now PSV is taking the right wing defender. Bassey will probably play at the Under 16 of the Brabant club, where Stijn Schaars was recently appointed trainer.
Fifteen-year-old Bassey made an impression in Doetinchem, and not just on PSV. He was also called up for Orange Under 16, and at the Herdgang the defender has to develop further, on his way to a debut in paid football. This could be done, for example, at Jong PSV, the team that is meant to let talents smell the big work quickly.
