Valve and PGL announced that the next Major CS:GO tournament will be held from 23 October to 7 November 2021 in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, at the Ericsson Globe. Initially, the 16th major on CS:GO was to to take place in Rio de Janeiro, but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time in Stockholm, the Ericsson Globe arena could host the tenth tournament of The International on Dota 2, which did not take place for the same reason.
