The Telegraph expects United to switch: ‘bid for Gakpo coming up’

Manchester United plans to report to PSV soon with a bid for Cody Gakpo, writes The Telegraph. According to the British newspaper, the Premier League superpower does not intend to wait for Ajax and Antony after all.
The Brazilian was initially Uniteds main target, which saw a bid of eighty million euros rejected. Fabrizio Romano, among others, reported that The Mancunians will return to Ajax with an improved proposal, but according to The Telegraph, Gakpo is now the number one target. It is even expected that an agreement with PSV will not cause any problems.
Manchester United would have to pay 44 million euros to release the 23-year-old Dutch international in Eindhoven. The Eindhovens Dagblad wrote earlier in the day that PSV, including bonuses, demands sixty million. Players like AZ forward Jesper Karlsson and Calvin Stengs of OGC Nice would be on the shadow list in case Gakpo leaves.
United announced the arrival of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro on Friday night, which costs at least seventy million euros. Previously, Erik ten Hag was given access to Lisandro Martรญnez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen.
