Chinese actors will have to comply with new moral guidelines during their work as of next month. If they do not, they can be permanently banned from the business, reports news agency Reuters.
The new list of guidelines was published on Friday. It states, among other things, that actors and actors should “not violate social public order and should not foster hatred and discrimination between various ethnic groups.
Also, they should not promote cults or various kinds of superstitions. In addition, it is forbidden to participate in or organize illegal activities such as pornography, gambling, drugs and violence.
Those who are guilty of one of these offences may not return to work until a special ethics unit approves it. It is not clear why the Chinese Association for the Arts has now established these rules.
