Three natural fire deaths California, fear of many deaths in Oregon

Three people were found dead in the forest fires in Northern California. This brings the death toll to at least eleven.

Two people were found in one place. A third would have fled the flames and been found in a car.

Hundreds of houses and other buildings were damaged or destroyed, the fire department said at a press conference. 64.000 people were evacuated.

In Oregon, a lot of deaths are feared. “This could be the greatest loss of life and property due to natural fires in the history of our state,” said Governor Kate Brown. Five villages and hundreds of houses have been destroyed.

In the neighboring state of Washington, a larger area was burned down in a single day than would normally be the case in a whole year.
