Three of the four suspects detained for the death of 24-year-old Bas van Wijk have been released. There is insufficient evidence to hold them any longer, two of the men’s lawyers confirm.
It concerns men between the ages of 18 and 21, who still remain suspects. They were present on the beach in park De Oeverlanden in Amsterdam on the day of the shooting incident, over two weeks ago.
“It was a one-man operation by the shooter”, says lawyer Cem Polat, who assists a 19-year-old suspect. His client would be an acquaintance of the prime suspect, who is still in custody.
