Tom Dumoulin starts in Walloon Pijl and Liège-Bastogne-Liège

Tom Dumoulin will start Wednesday in the Walloon Pijl. The Dutchman of Jumbo-Visma will also be present in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, which will be held next Sunday.

Last Sunday, after the World Championships on the road, Dumoulin hinted that he didnt think it was such a good idea to start in the Walloon Pijl. I think Im taking a weeks rest now. The following week I would like to participate in the podium places in the Amstel Gold Race (Saturday 10 October), told the Limburger then.

Dumoulin is accompanied by Lennard Hofstede and Tom Leezer, the Belgian Laurens De Plus, the Dane Jonas Vingengaard and the German Paul Martens.

Primoz Roglic, who finished second in the Tour de France, makes his debut in Liège-Bastogne-Liège. For the rest, the team of Jumbo-Visma is the same as that of the Walloon Pijl.

Ive never driven a Walloon classic before, so its hard to say how Im going to do it, says Roglic. I know how the autumn classics run in Italy and what it takes to win them, but this competition is new to me. Its a new experience to start in Liège-Bastogne-Liège and I look forward to racing there.
