Toornstra still needed despite sartorius injury: ‘It became increasingly painful’

Jens Toornstra started on the couch during Feyenoord-Heracles Almelo on Wednesday as a precaution, but couldnt take a shredding day anyway. The home team had a hard time, but eventually won 2-1, after Toornstra came off the bank after just under an hour of play.
The midfielder from Alphen aan de Rijn had been troubled by Feyenoord
s packed program. โ€œI thought it was wise to take a moment somewhere and the trainer thought this was a good time,โ€ Toornstra told ESPN afterwards. โ€œI was suffering from my sartorius, an attachment to my abs. At least, Ive been told… I was able to play every time, but it got more and more painful.โ€
So early in the second half, he still had to go to jail, at a stand of 1-1. โ€œI don
t know if I turned the game around, but luckily we ended up winning.โ€ Feyenoord had to do that in an extinct Kuip: When asked, Toornstra acknowledges that he has to work harder to motivate himself and his team. โ€œIm trying to control the boys verbally. Of course, thats never as motivating as fifty thousand men, in it you try to do something extra. But its difficult, yes.โ€
Feyenoord has risen from place three to place two after the win overtaking game and is now one point behind Ajax and one point for PSV. Sunday number for the last Fortuna Sittard will come to De Kuip.
