The transfer market in football has been reopened since 1 January. Despite the coronacrisis, many clubs are still looking for reinforcements. See below an overview of contract renewals, rumors and completed transfers.
Three newcomers have to save FC Emmen from degradation
19:50 p.m.: Kerim Frei, his brother Elias Frei and Jean-Pierre Rhyner have to save FC Emmen from degradation from the Eredivisie in the second half of the season. Shortly after the defeat against Vitesse (1-4), the number recently announced the arrival of the trio.
Kerim Frei (27) played for FC Emmen before. Last season, the Turkish-Swiss wing striker was rented from Istanbul Basaksehir at the end of January. As a result of an injury and the outbreak of the coronavirus, he came to only four duels for FC Emmen, which has now been sold. He signed for a season and a half.
The seven-year younger Elias Frei, a left-back, comes across transfer-free from the Swiss FC Lucerne. He, too, joined the club for a season and a half.
The 24-year-old Rhyner is rented until the end of the season from the Spanish club Cádiz, ending in La Liga. The central defender has both a Swiss and Peruvian passport. It can be taken over definitively after the season.
FC Emmen took only 5 points in the first seventeen duels. The Drenthe club has not yet won and must fear degradation.
