Traoré (ex-Ajax) is out almost a year after collision with Dumfries

The season is over for Lassina Traoré. Shakhtar Donetsk announces Wednesday through official channels that the attacker is out of nine to twelve months. Traoré was injured against Internazionale in the Champions League last week.
Traoré was overthrown by Denzel Dumfries and suffered an ugly knee injury that keeps him on the side for the time being. Traoré has a serious injury, his knee ligaments are damaged. He‘ll have surgery in two weeks. His recovery is between nine months and a year, says Artur Hlushchenko, member of Shakhtar’s medical staff, on the Ukrainians club site.

Traoré‘s injury is a big blow to both him and Shakhtar. The striker made the switch from Ajax to Ukraine last summer and scored six times in seven league games. He signed a contract in Ukraine until the summer of 2026.
