In Paris today the trial against the man who tried to attack the Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris in August 2015 begins.

El K. had travelled shortly before his attempt to IS territory in Syria, says correspondent Frank Renout in the CCEit Radio 1 News. He is suspected of attempted murder with terrorist intent and could be given 20 years in jail for it. The judge has set aside about four weeks for trial.
