Chelsea won a match under Thomas Tuchel for the fifth consecutive time. The German trainer, who held Hakim Ziyech for 90 minutes, saw his team triumph with 2-0 against Newcastle United.
Chelsea was the dominant party at The Bridge and had a good phase just before rest enough to make a difference. Within eight minutes Olivier Giroud and Timo Werner met goal, which made the difference and didnt really get Newcastle back in the match. Especially for Werner it was nice that he scored: the German had been dry in the Premier League for a few months.
After the break, Tuchels formation ensured that the guests from the north of England did not return to the match. There were no need for creative hunches, so Hakim Ziyech stayed on the couch next to his German practice master. The former Ajacied doesnt seem to be in the league for Chelsea and his last performance, during the FA Cup victory at Barnsley (1-0), was also under beat.
Tuchel doesnt have much reason to change, because his team is on the rise in the Premier League. The Blues are now on goal balance fourth and thats the spot that entitles you to a spot in the Champions League at the end of the ride. Manchester United and Leicester City, the number two and three respectively, are only four points ahead.
