In the spring, Trigger studio Happy Interactive unveiled its new project, cyberpunk retro shooter Turbo Overkill. At that time, the developers stated that the game would be released exclusively on the PC. But by this time they have changed their minds: owners of Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
Creators of the game were inspired by classic shooters DOOM, Duke Nukem and Quake. Our protagonist is Johnny Turbo, a half-man, half-machine with combat implants: hidden missiles in his hand and a chainsaw in his hollow.
In the story, the hero returns to his hometown of Paradise and finds that his the population is overrun by a fraudulent artificial intelligence and its army of enhanced minions. Johnny is in need of money, and he is taking an impossible order: to destroy the AI before his rivals.
Turbo Overkill is scheduled for release in 2022. The PC version will be available on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store.
