Two arrests in investigation liquidation Amstelveen

The police arrested two men suspected of being involved in the liquidation of a 39-year-old man from Amstelveen in December last year.

The victim was shot dead in a car in the parking lot in front of a gym. In the back seat at the time was a 5-year-old child, who wasn’t hurt.

The first suspect was arrested on 25 August in Amsterdam. The second suspect was arrested on 1 September. He was already in custody on suspicion of involvement in another case. The police do not rule out more arrests.

The victim is a known police officer. Het Parool reported earlier that it concerns the Dutch-Moroccan criminal Rachid Kotar. He is said to be part of a gang that has been in conflict with the group around criminal Ridouan Taghi for years.
