Two deaths under debris collapsed flat Spain

Emergency workers found a second body under the debris of a collapsed apartment complex in the Spanish seaside resort of Peñíscola, 140 kilometres northeast of Valencia. Its about a woman who was lifeless from under the rubble. Nobodys missing anymore.

The womans 15-year-old stepson was taken from under the rubble on Thursday morning, even he did not survive. Part of the apartment building collapsed around 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, after which a massive rescue was launched. At least 140 rescuers were looking for dogs under the rubble.

Three people went missing, a 26-year-old man was rescued on the night of Wednesday to Thursday after the emergency services contacted him because they heard him knock and shout from under the rubble.

The building, built in the 1990s, partially collapsed due to unknown reasons. According to the municipality, there were eight dwellings and around thirty people lived. Mayor Andrés Martínez of Peñíscola said some of the residents were not home, they would have spent the summer evening on the Mediterranean coast according to local media.

At

least 55 residents of the building and surrounding buildings have to spend the night elsewhere, they are all accommodated by acquaintances or hotels. Solidarity was overwhelming, says Mayor Martínez.
