Two ‘newcomers’ high on list Party for the Animals

After leader Esther Ouwehand, the Party voor de Dieren has placed Christine Teunissen at number two. Leonie Vestering is the number three on the list of candidates for the Second Chamber elections.

Teunissen was previously a member of the Group of the European Parliament. From 2014 to 2018 she was also group chairman in the Hague City Council. Earlier she replaced Marianne Thieme during her sick leave in the House of Representatives.

Vesting is now the chairman of the group in Almere and has been committed to a ban on wild circus animals for Wild Animals.

Ministry of Climate and Biodiversity

The MPs Wassenberg and Van Raan are at number 4 and 5, and now sitting MPs Eva van Esch is at number 6.

In the top 10 there are also Eva Akerboom, Pascale Plusquin, Maarten van Heuven and Johnas van Lammeren. At the beginning of December, the party will publish a number of list pushers.

This weekend the program of the Party for the Animals came out. The party advocates a Ministry of Climate and Biodiversity and wants a ban on disposable plastic. The party also wants a test with a basic income for everyone, a substantial contraction in aviation and an end to the bio-industry.

The Second Chamber elections will be held in March. The Party for the Animals now has four seats. In the Polling Guide, an average of the polls of Ipsos, I&O Research and Kantar, the party reaches four to six seats.
