Ubisoft, as promised, announced a new installment of the series during its 20th anniversary broadcast to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ghost Recon. But there was no surprise: just before the show began, Tom Clancy‘s Ghost Recon Frontline was discovered in Uplay. Ghost Recon Frontline turned out to be a free battle royale with elements of other genres and the first battle royale in the Tom Clancy universe.
It can include more than a hundred players, and there will be other ways to win in the main mode besides defeating all opponents. The battle will be for operatives of different classes with special skills.
Ubisoft has tried to play the trendy battle royale genre before, but Hyper Scape has failed to meet the company’s expectations. And Frontline is officially defined as a “tactical PvP shooter with large-scale battles”, and other challenges are expected in the game besides the classic “royal” mode.
