White smoke is in sight: Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig almost agree on the transition of Julian Nagelsmann to the German record champion.
The Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung already released Monday afternoon with the news that a deal is in the making, and BILD and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano are also doing a step on top of that. Both sides are as good as agreed. Bayern will pay a transfer sum of fifteen million euros to Leipzig. Because of bonuses, this can reach up to twenty million euros, an unprecedented deal for trainer concepts.
According to BILD and Romano, Nagelsmann signs at the club until 2026, for which he always had a soft spot, according to the boulevard newspaper. Nothing is reported on the salary, WAZ reported that it amounts to EUR 8 million per year.
FlickBayern was looking for a successor to the highly successful Hansi Flick, who won six awards. He is not aligned with the German club leadership and recently announced his departure, although Bayern did not immediately agree. Now that Nagelsmann is ready to board, Bayern is willing to terminate Flicks contract. He will succeed Joachim Löw and become German national coach.
