A transfer to Nottingham Forest ricocheted, but Michy Batshuayi still got his transfer. The Belgian attacker leaves for Fenerbahçe.
Batshuayi was well on his way to Nottingham, but his employer Chelsea failed to complete the paperwork in time. Because the market is now closed there, a transfer within England was no longer an option. But in Turkey, the market is still open, so Batshuayi was still able to complete his desired transfer. Nottingham would permanently recruit the attacker, so it is in line with the expectation that the Turkish club will do the same.
Remarkable: Batshuayi played for arch-rival Besiktas last season, for whom he scored fourteen goals. Batshuayis contract with Chelsea continued until the summer of 2023, and he also played for Standard Liège, Olympique Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace.
