Update: La Liga turns green signals: four out of five Barça purchases may debut

FC Barcelona expects to be able to register four out of five purchases in time for the start of the La Liga season. Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié are presumably in the game against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening, but Jules Koundé will be missing.
This is reported by the generally well-established The Athletic. Barça has not been able to register a single new player until now, as it did not meet La Ligas salary limit. The Catalans therefore decided to sell parts of the television rights and Barça Studios. The club pulled the fourth and for the time being last lever on Friday, raising another hundred million euros.
The Spanish competition organization is currently studying the documents and is expected to take a decision on Friday. If they approve the latest financial deal, Lewandowski, Raphinha, Christensen and Kessié are almost certainly entitled to play. However, Koundé is in the waiting room. The French defender can probably only be registered when players surrender salary or are sold. Barça decided to let Koundé lose weight for the time being, because trainer Xavi already has plenty of options in his defense. His transfer was also completed last, so he joined the selection the latter.
In the meantime, Blaugrana is doing everything in its power to have Koundé available as quickly as possible. Gerard Piqué once again gives the club a helping hand. The 35-year-old defender is once again willing to surrender salary. He would even want to waive his fee throughout the season to get paid again only in 2023/2024.
Last summer, Piqué also waived a large part of his salary, just like Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. At the time, this was necessary to enroll Sergio Agüero, Eric García and Memphis Depay. The Dutch attacker is now allowed to leave again and is in the interest of Juventus, among others. The future of Frenkie de Jong has also been the subject of discussion for months.
Update: La Liga has set the signals green: Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié can debut for FC Barcelona. Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembélé can also take action against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening. They count as new players because they only renewed their contract after their old commitment ended.
As expected, Jules Koundé is the child of the bill for now. Barça must first free up space in the salary house before the French defender can be registered.
