Jesse Marsch has to become the new trainer of RB Leipzig. In Germany, Marsch becomes the successor of Julian Nagelsmann, who left for Bayern Munich. Erik ten Hag was also a candidate for Leipzig.
According to Swiss media and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Marsch has the best papers to become Leipzigs new trainer. The 47-year-old American comes from the Red Bull group and is therefore no stranger to the club. In addition, under Ralf Rangnick, he was an assistant at Leipzig.
Marsch moved to Germany in 2018 after he was a trainer for the American national team (as assistant), Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls. Since 2019 he has been the trainer of Red Bull Salzburg. In his first season in Austria he won the double.
