Vaccinated travellers welcome to US starting November 8

The United States will open its borders on November 8 for travellers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and people will be able to enter the US on airplanes or land.

Travellers must present a vaccination certificate prior to departure by plane and a recent test result showing that they are not infected with the coronavirus. It should be vaccines approved by the World Health Organization WHO. This means that vaccination with, for example, the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is not used in the US, is valid as an โ€œadmission ticketโ€.

The test must be taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival. Travellers should also share who they have interacted with when requested.

The Americans enacted a strict entry policy at the beginning of the pandemic, making it virtually impossible to travel to the country without a US passport or residence permit at the moment. They announced in September that vaccinated people from much of Europe could return to the US โ€œearly Novemberโ€.
