Raymond van Barneveld showed his way back this weekend with a win in the Players Championship 2 tournament in Bolton. On Sunday he won the other side of the medal at the Players Championship 4 tournament.
In the first round everything went well for Van Barneveld. He took out his compatriot Geert Nentjes with 6-4. The Australian Damon Heta was too strong with 6-4. ‘Barney’ twice undone a backlog of two legs, but was unable to actually take the lead.
It turned out to be the prelude to defeating more Dutch people. In the semi-final he also proved to be too strong for Michael van Gerwen with no less than 7-3, and a round earlier he set aside Dirk van Duijvenbode 6-3. Heta lost the final to Jonny Clayton with 8-6.
