Van Bommel takes fourth defeat in a row: Monaco defeats Wolfsburg

Mark van Bommel had to collect another defeat with VfL Wolfsburg. The Bundesliga subtopper went down with AS Monaco by 1-2 on Saturday. It‘s already the fourth practice defeat in a row for Die Wölfe.
Wolfsburg was still ahead in Austria through Yannick Gerhardt, but after rest things went wrong. After 65 minutes of play, Monaco came by side after his own goal of Belgian acquisition Sebastiaan Bornauw. Four minutes later Aleksandr Golovin shot the Monegasks ahead.
Van Bommel started his tenor with a tight 2-1 win on second-grader FC Erzgebirge Aue. Subsequently, Hansa Rostock (0-3), Holstein Kiel (0-1) and Olympique Lyon (4-1) were lost successively. Monaco, most likely Myron Boadu’
s new employer, was too strong. Wout Weghorst was still missing after the European Championships, amongst others.
Wolfsburg is still practicing against Atlético Madrid next week. A week later, the season starts with a match against Preussen Münster in the DFB Pokal.
