Rangers FC manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has lost striker Joe Aribo. Nigerias 25-year-old international completed its transfer to Southampton, England on Saturday.
Aribo passed his medical examination and was presented on Saturday by The Saints, who captured him for four seasons. Rangers initially have seven million euros, but the transfer fee can still be up to around twelve million euros by means of bonuses.
Southampton welcomes him with open arms. “Joe has already gained a lot of experience at the highest level and has proven in the Europa League that he can handle the Premier League,” says manager Ralph Hasenhüttl through the club channels. “Thats his ambition and hes determined to prove he can do it.”
Rangers took Aribo away from Charlton Athletic in 2019. Last season, he scored nine times in he gave ten assists in 57 official games on behalf of the Scots. His last game was the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt, but it was lost, despite a hit by Aribo in Seville.
