Van den Brom wants to talk sessions ‘out of miser’: ‘From captain to material man’

KRC Genk is in a serious form dip. John van den Brom has to turn the tide, knows that his job is under pressure and therefore spoke extensively with his players and staff. This is what the Dutch practitioner tells Hat Latest News.

Van den Brom tells the Belgian newspaper how he tried to get all noses in the same direction. โ€œI want to take you into the story of the past few days. After the very disappointing defeat at Ostend, I had the feeling that I had to stay with those boys in the dressing room for a while. That was the first step to get out of the misery.โ€
In the dressing room, the former trainer of FC Utrecht already started the conversation. โ€œIve given these guys the opportunity to tell them whats on their liver. And that happens in a normal setting, thats not throwing shoes like you sometimes think, but just an open conversation. Almost everyone has spoken. From the captain to the material man. This situation we are now in is hurting us all.โ€
Van den Brom believes in the qualities of his players and has seen recovery this week at the training. โ€œThe qualities we have are not reflected if we play without commitment, courage, trust and the right mentality. I feel that these talk sessions really worked, because what we showed at training today was just impressive.โ€
The Dutch trainer has only been a trainer in Belgian Limburg since the beginning of November. He decided to leave FC Utrecht and to go for his chance in Genk, where he is already in the spade chair.
