Van der Heijden returns to old nest and stays permanently in the Eredivisie

Jan-Arie van der Heijden continues his career with Willem II. The defender, who played for Feyenoord in recent years, signed his contract in Tilburg on Monday.

With Willem II, Van der Heijden is reunited with Miquel Nelom, who also played for Feyenoord at an earlier stage. In addition, Martin van Geel and Joris Mathijsen, the general and technical director of the Tricolores, worked for the Stadionclub. The left leg himself played for the Tilburgers: between 2009 and 2011 he was rented by Ajax to Willem II.
The stopper from Leiden played for Feyenoord in the last five seasons, where he was a base player when the club became champion in the 2016/2017 season. In addition to Feyenoord and Willem II, Van der Heijden also appeared in his career for Vitesse and thus Ajax, where he received his youth education. For the Amsterdammers he came into action in only two official competitions.
