Mike van der Hoorn moved to the Bundesliga. The 27-year-old defender has signed a three-year contract with Arminia Bielefeld, who was promoted to the highest level in Germany last season. Van der Hoorn comes over transfer free from Swansea City, where he played the past four seasons.
Van der Hoorn had contact with several clubs, but his feelings brought him to Bielefeld. “When I was young, I dreamed of playing in the Bundesliga someday. It’s one of the best leagues in the world.”
Doing so too?
In the past, players like Michael Lamey, Rob Maas, Sonny Silooy and more recently Anass Achahbar Van der Hoorn took the lead. PSV player Ritsu Doan is also on the list of possible reinforcements at Bielefeld. The attacker may be hired.
Bielefeld practiced against Feyenoord at the training camp in Austria. The game ended 0-0.
