Van Gaal not at the CCEit at appointed time: ‘I went back to the toilet’

Louis van Gaal took care of his official Orange return on Wednesday evening. The coach was supposed to speak to DecceIT at 8:10 p.m., but did that ten minutes later.
The usually so punctual Van Gaal was short and turned out to be in the catacombs of the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo together with press chef Bas Ticheler. โ€œI was waiting for you,โ€ he opened the postponed interview with Jeroen Stekelenburg. โ€œThat took a long time, so then I went back to the bathroom.โ€
After this misunderstanding was clarified, the look could be focused on Wednesday nights game again. Orange will play against Norway in a 4-3-3 system again, instead of the 5-3-2 that was used during the European Championships. โ€œIf so many guys say they prefer to play 1-4-3-3: who am I? And if I only have two days of training time… At the World Cup (in 2014, when Oranje played 5-3-2 with Van Gaal, ed.) I had six weeks of training time, it is very different. Another system that takes time to get that into the minds of these players. In the Netherlands they are used to playing 1-4-3-3.โ€
Norway and the Netherlands are kicking off in Oslo at 8.45 p.m. Both countries took six points in their first two World Cup qualifiers.
