Van Ginkel held a good faith for PSV: ‘In previous years’

Marco van Ginkel doesnt really care about PSVs mediocre play against Go Ahead Eagles. The captain is especially pleased that he managed to win a win for his team (1-2).
โ€œIt wasnt top today, but youll win. Sometimes you have those matches that you have to cross the line. So it wasnt top, but Im happy with the victory,โ€ says Van Ginkel to ESPN. He agrees that it wasnt good before rest. โ€œPositional we didnt stand well. They made our midfield big, giving them the second ball each time. Ryan Thomas and I had a hard time with the large spaces. Go Ahead did well.โ€
โ€œWe were certainly very bad at the ball, we gave a lot of bad balls,โ€ admits Van Ginkel, who saw improvement after rest. โ€œWe were better in the second half, and in the changeover we could get dangerous.โ€ Yet PSV didnt drag three points out of the fire until the 86th minute. โ€œYou should never give up,โ€ says the midfielder. โ€œYou see: the ball falls well and then it goes in. In the previous years, that was always.โ€
