Van Persie gets good news: Feyenoord gives 15-year-old talent first professional contract

Thuto Mojanaga has received his first professional contract with Feyenoord. The 15-year-old player of Feyenoord Under 16 has signed a commitment until mid-2025.
Mojanaga is very happy with his first contract. He also expects that there is a lot to learn in the team where he currently plays. Feyenoord Under 16 is being trained by Robin van Persie, among others. โ€œMy family was there today and that‘s great,โ€ says Mojanaga on the club website. My little brother is a big fan of the club and he walks around in a Feyenoord shirt all day long. I think I can learn a lot from Brian Pinas and Robin van Persie this season. It’s great that, with all their professional football experience, they are my trainers this season.โ€
According to Feyenoord‘s Head of Academy, Rini Coolen, Mojanaga is a sophisticated player with many qualities at this age. โ€œHe is a controlling midfielder with game-defining characteristics, a lot of running power, and a lot of dueling power. He spends all day getting the best out of himself and we at Feyenoord love that.โ€
The midfielder has already played for several Dutch youth teams, but he was born in South Africa. He played in Supersport United FC’
s youth school in the capital Pretoria until 2018. When Mojanaga was twelve, he made the switch to training at PEC Zwolle. They let him leave for Rotterdam this summer.
