Van Persie laughs at the Orange comparison Van Gaal: ‘He said to us too’

Louis van Gaal recently said that he likes the current Orange better than that of 2014 and Robin van Persie laughed about that. The former striker has often heard such statements from Van Gaal. Van Persie also jokes about his place in the Orange squad.
In an interview with De Cceit, Van Persie gets questions about the current Orange. How does he view this team? โ€œWith a positive feeling,โ€ says the all-time top scorer in the Netherlands. โ€œApart from the good results, they also play very well. Both with and without a ball.โ€
Van Gaal likes the current Orange better than that of 2014. Van Persie himself was in the latter team and is confronted with the ruling of his old coach. โ€œLouis says that with every team he trains, about his new and previous team. In that regard, I am not surprised. He said that to us at the time too. Football has also changed: the time you played with a hanging right and left winger is over. It is now a lot about walking and data is important in that. I think its comparing apples to pears, its very difficult to make that comparison.โ€
About Van Persie himself: before the World Cup in Qatar, he is officially still available for Van Gaal. โ€œIm one of the few players who never quit: I never thanked for the Orange,โ€ says the 102-time international. โ€œAt one point, of course, I knew it was done, but I never thanked. So, in theory, Van Gaal could still call meโ€, laughs Van Persie.
