One missed a penalty, the other headed sc Heerenveen ten minutes before time to victory against Vitesse. Joey Veerman was very happy with the hit by Henk Veerman, who made his first lead goal in the Eredivisie. The striker of two meters long can laugh very hard about it.
In the first half Joey missed an excellent opportunity to put Heerenveen on the lead. He saw how Vitesse-keeper Remko Pasveer stopped his penalty and was pleased with Henks late hit. “Otherwise, I would have been a lot more grumpy here”, he says after the game in conversation with ESPN. “Of course I just have to shoot that ball in.”
Looking at the footage, Joey is clear about his commitment from 11 meters. “I see Im shooting him in dramatically. I thought he was a little more in the corner. I lipped on two thoughts: I wanted to shoot him through the middle or counter. I walked towards the ball and started doubting… And then you shoot him right, the third option. Not so smart.”
The midfielder was therefore pleased with the hit by Henk Veerman, who made his first leading goal in the Eredivisie ten minutes before time. It creates a smile on the face of the striker. “Youve seen it now, havent you? Hats”, he tells broadly grinning in conversation with Omrop Fryslân. “Im a bit of a Luuk the Young-like leader”, concludes Veerman.
