VfL Bochum – Gladbach is permanently discontinued after 68 minutes of play

The match between VfL Bochum and Borussia Mönchengladbach was discontinued after 68 minutes on Friday. Assistant referee Christian Gittelman was hit by a supporter with a cup of beer. The competition will no longer resume.
At a 0-2 lead for Gladbach, Gittelman got a full cup on his head, on which the referee decided to stop the game. A final strike followed. The game will no longer be played out on Friday evening. Bochum had called for a few hours before the game not to throw more beer.
We can only apologize to border judge Christian Gittelmann. A very embarrassing and bitter evening for us. An extremely stupid action, Bochum says on Twitter. Gladbach is in eleventh place in the Bundesliga and has 33 points. Bochum stands twelfth with 32 points.
