Victoria was not immediately enthusiastic about the name Posh Spice

Fashion designer Victoria Beckham was best known as Posh Spice in the nineties, but it was a nickname that the former Spice Girl was not immediately enthusiastic about at the time.

โ€œ I got the name Posh in 1996 during a lunch with Peter Loraine from Top of The Pops Magazine and the rest of the Spice Girlsโ€, the former singer looks back in her Instagram Story. โ€œI can‘t say it was my first choice, but in the end I embraced it in my own way. I was young and shy and being Posh helped me find my style, confidence and voice.โ€

After the Spice Girls, the 46-year-old fashion designer took away from her nickname. โ€œI wanted to find my own way.โ€ Yet Victoria decided to embrace the name again and this week she released a lipstick called Posh. โ€œNow, years later, I look back with appreciation to that formative time. Posh changed my life forever, opened doors for me to pursue my dreams,โ€ she writes.

โ€œ This week I celebrate Posh with the launch of Posh Lipstick. It’s very personal โ€” lipstick has always given me a lot of confidence when I needed it and extra spice when I already had it.โ€
