Riot Games announced that the Pop/Stars song by virtual band K/DA released three years ago had acquired US gold single status. This has been recognized by the Recording Companies Association of America RIAa. 500,000 unique purchases are sufficient to acquire gold status in the case of digital singles.
At the same time, every 150 auditions count every 150 auditions as one buy. The virtual K-pop group K/DA consists of four League of Legends characters: Ari, Akali, Evelinn and KaiSa.
The song Pop/Stars was recorded by Soyeon and Miyeon from South Korean band (G) I-DLE, as well as singers Madison Beer and Jaira Burns. In 2019, the song reached number one on the World Digital Songs hit parade.
