VV Katwijk is champion despite defeat: big party in fishing village

VV Katwijk became champion of the Second Division on Saturday. It lost at Excelsior Maassluis, but cannot be overtaken by HHC Hardenberg and Jong Sparta due to the defeat of HHC Hardenberg and Jong Sparta.
Katwijk has long been at the forefront of the Second Division, which is now called Jacks League. The club from the fishing village had a lesser phase and threatened to lose the lead after a number of defeats, but then relegated and left the competition behind.
Katwijk stayed in suspense for a while because it did not win at Excelsior Maassluis on Saturday. Because HHC from Scheveningen and Jong Sparta also spilled against De Treffers, the title party may still erupt. The battle for second place is still open. Hardenberg (2nd, 55 points), Royal HFC (3rd, 53 points) Jong Sparta (4th, 53 points), and Rijnsburg Boys (5th, 52 points) still play for that.
