Absenteeism in healthcare remains high: in the months of April, May and June, the absenteeism was 6.5 percent. That‘s the highest in a second quarter since 2003, the CBS reports.
A 6.5 percent absenteeism means that out of 1,000 working days, 65 were not working because someone reported ill. The extent to which the corona pandemic has contributed to it is not clear. Sickness absenteeism in healthcare also increased before the corona crisis.

Mayor of Rotterdam Aboutaleb has been named Best Mayor in the World of the Year 2021 and shares the award with the mayor of the French city of Grigny.
According to the organization, Aboutaleb has “shown exceptional leadership” during the corona pandemic and had an eye for the vulnerable from the outset. The jury calls him a passionate defender of freedom, tolerance and solidarity. Aboutaleb says it’s very honored with the price.
