Good morning! Today the Book Week starts and in Porto Chelsea and Manchester City play for the Champions League final victory.

First the weather: this morning the first hours in the north some low cloudiness and in the whole country risk of some fog. Later sun, in the interior some pile clouds and it remains dry. The temperature becomes 19 to 20 degrees. A little colder in the north. Morning plenty of sun, then it‘ll be 18 to 23 degrees.

The Government of Surinam has declared the highest corona risk level for the country. That means the situation is uncontrollable. Safety and public health can no longer be guaranteed. The hospitals, where code black applies, are full and there is a shortage of medicinal oxygen. The Netherlands sends Astrazeneca vaccines to the country from the end of June. Two oxygen containers are also brought to Suriname.

From Monday to 18 June, a total lockdown is in place in the country, which means, among other things, that supermarkets, bakers and butchers are only open three days a week. One person per family is allowed to go outside for shopping and further one has to stay inside.

From Teuge Airport in Gelderland today Brit Travis Ludlow starts a world record attempt for the Guinness Book of World Records. He wants to be the youngest pilot ever to fly solo around the world. The current record is registered to the American Mason Andrews. In 2018, Mason was 18 years old and 163 days old. Travis hopes to set the new record at 18 years and 150 days.
