War causes a lot of hunger in Ethiopia

For more than six months, the war in the African country of Ethiopia has been causing major problems. Nowhere in the world would so many people, including children, live hungry.

Many farmer fields have been destroyed by all fights. Harvesting failed and so there is far too little food.

Thousands of children have fled the violence. Unicef‘s aid organization is trying to help them as best as possible. For example, a number of shelter camps have been built where food and water are distributed.

In fact, aid organizations like Unicef want to help residents a lot more, but the government does not want to cooperate with that. They say the situation isn’t that bad at all.

The United Nations, a major organization that belongs to almost every country of the world, disagrees with that. They told the Ethiopian Government to allow help in the area as soon as possible.
