Wattimena convincing start at Grand Slam of Darts with big victory over Durrant

Jermaine Wattimena is the Grand Slam of Darts started with a victory. The Dutchman defeated Glen Durrant with 5-1 during his first match in Group F

a beautiful start for Wattimena, who will continue to hit James Wade and Damon Heta in the pool phase. Wade won the first match between those two players with 5-2 and thus has the full loot just like Wattimena.

Wattimena broke Durrant, the winner of the last Premier League, straight into the opening leg and cashed the break in the second leg. In the third leg, Wattimena Durrant broke again, with a beautiful 80-finish that The Machine Gun threw out twice tops. And even before Durrant had even had an arrow on a double, it was 4-0.

In the fifth leg Durrant finally did something back and his first arrow was double enough to reduce the backlog to 4-1. However, Wattimena did not get upset and finished the last leg in style.

On Monday evening Michael van Gerwen takes on Adam Hunt in his first duel, while Dirk van Duijvenbode hits Peter Wright.
