Weghorst competitor signs at Wolfsburg: ‘Van Bommel convinced me by phone’

Lukas Nmecha will compete with Wout Weghorst at VfL Wolfsburg next season. The striker, which happened to Manchester City, indicates that coach Mark van Bommel convinced him over the phone to play at Wolfsburg.
Nmecha (22) impressed Germany at the European Championships O21 that managed to catch the title. On the way to win, the team took out the Netherlands O21. From August 2019 to January 2020, he played on a rental basis for Wolfsburg, but then he barely got to play. Nmecha expects this to be different under Van Bommel.
โ€œIn my first period that was not optimally regulated,โ€ says Nmecha in conversation with BILD. โ€œBut Ive talked to the trainer now, he really wants me here. That might not have been quite the case last time. The trainer explained to me what he wants with me. Van Bommel convinced me over the phone.โ€
Nmecha says he feels the trust of Wolfsburg. โ€œDirector Marcel Schรคfer has always believed in my talent. With trainer Oliver Glasner (who now stands for the group at Eintracht Frankfurt, ed.), he didn
t change much. I can say we werent the best friends.โ€ But what position was Nmecha achieved for? Weghorst stands in rush hour at Wolfsburg. โ€œI can play anywhere in the attack. But the trainer knows that striker is my favourite position,โ€ Nmecha concludes.
