What can you expect today?

How did the Dutch Olympians perform last night? Read a brief overview here. And below you can see the program for today.

What did you miss?

BMX‘s Niek Kimmann has won Olympic gold with a tear in his patella. After an excellent start, Kimmann went through the corner first and then took a few meters ahead of the rest of the field, which he didn’t give away.

Merel Smulders won a surprising bronze medal in the Olympic BMX final. She followed in the footsteps of her sister Laura, who herself went hard in the semifinals.

Other news from the night:
And then this:

Herman van Veen set a record. Theater Carrรฉ put the stage artist in the spotlight last night because he performed a record number of solo times at the Amsterdam theatre. Van Veen was on the shelves for the 561st time, which killed Toon Hermans‘s old record. Freek de Jonge was more often in Carrรฉ, but that wasn’t always solo.

The milestone for 76-year-old Van Veen was actually on the agenda for last year, but Corona had to postpone the anniversary tour in honor of his 75th birthday for a year.

Happy Friday!
