If youre on Instagram, chances are that youve had a dm from a weird account this week. Children are getting messages from sex bots more and more often.
At first, these messages were mostly covered by posts from popular Instagram accounts, but now you can see them in your inbox. This is possible because the bots can add you to group conversations.
So the people behind the fake accounts have actually found a new way to lure people to their site and make them pay.
What can you do about it?
You must indicate in Instagram that you do not want to be added to group conversations anymore. Thats not the same for every device. In the pictures below you can see the two most common ways to do that.
