Wiegman and England set European Championship record and crush Norway

Sarina Wiegmans England booked a historic victory on Monday night. The host country won 8-0 against two-time European champion Norway. The victory marked the biggest result at a European Championships.
The Lionesses have honed their own record. The old record came from the 2017 European Championships in the Netherlands, when Scotland was defeated 6-0. At a European Championships for men, there has never been such a high result as this Monday evening. In the first group match, Wiegman won with
only 1-0 from Austria, on Monday evening everything flew in.
At halftime, it was already 6-0, and Georgia Stanway took over the opening goal after ten minutes. Then followed goals by Lauren Hemp, Ellen White (2x) and Beth Mead (2x). Invalster Alessia Russo signed for the seventh English hit. Mead completed her hat-trick a little later with her third of the evening. England is certain of the eighth finals by victory.
