A 76-year-old Japanese woman was arrested after asking the police what to do with her sons rotting corpse. Toshiko Ujibe called Monday with that request for help from her apartment that she shared with her son in the Asaminami district of Hiroshima.
That reports the New York Post that relies on a message from Vice News. When cops arrived at the house, they smoke a dirty smell caused by the decomposing body of her 53-year-old son Kenji.
“ Agents who discovered the body suspected that the son had died ten days earlier,” said police officer Hisaru Uemoto.
According to police, the body of the man, which was lying on a mattress, showed multiple cuts to the neck. The exact cause of death is not yet known. The Japanese authorities are still awaiting the results of the autopsy.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a law that forbids damaging, leaving or holding a corpse, Vice reported.
“ The woman seemed confused and didnt know what to do, but we cant tell anything about her motives before the further details are examined,” the police said.
