Although the corona-andemic means that no supporters are welcome at the preliminary round matches in Champions League and Europa League, the supporters of Willem II did not let their club‘s return to the European stage go unnoticed.
A few hundred fans from Tilburg have nevertheless travelled to the small town of Luxembourg, where Willem II will finish the game in the second preliminary round with FC Progrès Niederkorn on Wednesday evening. Both at the arrival of the bus and at the turnout, the Willem II fans provided a hero’s welcome with fireworks and torches.
At the turnout they were able to do so from the bushes behind the railway track that runs along the modest stadium in Differdange. Part of the Willem II fans followed the match from that spot. The rest do so at the cafés in the town via TV.
