Willem ll impresses in Luxembourg and takes next step towards Europa League

Willem ll has placed himself with playful ease for the third preliminary round of the Europa League. The Luxemburg Progrés Niederkorn participated in the beginning, but eventually turned out to be a few bars too small for the guests from Tilburg: 0-5.

Willem ll was not allowed to bring fans to Luxembourg, but still the team was supported by part of the supporters. The fans were ready to receive the players‘ bus with torches an hour before the match and during the match they tried to follow the game in the bushes. Once in a while, a train passed by, but the Tilburg fans didn’t care.
Willem ll suffered from some nerves in the early stages, but got better and better in the match. The chances were for the people of Tilburg. After twenty minutes Willem ll was 0-1 by Vangelis Pavlidis, who saw a goal rejected earlier. His second goal did count in the end. After the opening goal it became clear that Niederkorn was no match for Willem ll. Görkem Saglam made 0-2 and Pavlidis made it 0-3. The game had only been played for 34 minutes, but the game seemed to have been decided.
The game did not change in the second half. Ché Nunnely made the 0-4 for Willem ll and two minutes later Mike Trésor Ndayshimiye also put his name on the scoreboard. By the way, his hit is one for the history books, as Willem ll never scored five times in an away game.
In the third preliminary round Willem ll plays against the winner of the game between Lincoln Red Imps and Rangers FC. Willem ll has to survive two more rounds to be admitted to the group stage of the Europa League.
